TSA Newsletter
Date Published: May 2026
As we move into May, we’d like to take a moment to recognise your continued dedication, professionalism, and flexibility. Your work across NHS services and nursing homes truly makes a difference to patients, residents and clinical teams every day.
Here’s what’s happening this month at TSA LTD.
International Nurses Day – 12 May
International Nurses Day celebrates the vital role nurses play in delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality care.
At TSA LTD, we want to say thank you to every nurse working with us. Your skill, resilience and commitment do not go unnoticed. Whether you’re covering shifts at short notice or providing continuity of care in long term placements, you are greatly appreciated.
Infection Prevention Reminder
Strong infection control practice remains essential.
A quick reminder to:
Perform regular and thorough hand hygiene
Use PPE correctly and according to local policy
Clean and decontaminate equipment between patients
Escalate concerns promptly if you suspect an outbreak
Consistent infection prevention protects patients, colleagues and you.
Documentation & Accountability
Accurate documentation is a core professional responsibility.
Please ensure:
Records are completed clearly, legibly and on time
You follow local documentation systems and policies
Incidents, near misses or concerns are reported using the correct tools
You ask if unsure where or how to record information
Good record keeping supports continuity of care and professional accountability.
Candidate of the Month – Above & Beyond – Worry
Each month, we celebrate candidates who consistently demonstrate professionalism, reliability and excellent care.
Thank you to everyone who continues to represent TSA LTD to a high standard. We see your hard work and appreciate the positive feedback we receive from placements.
Mental Health Awareness
May is an important time to reflect on mental wellbeing, particularly in healthcare.
Working long hours, rotating shifts and high-pressure environments can take its toll. Please remember:
It’s okay to acknowledge when you’re feeling overwhelmed
Try to rest properly between shifts where possible
Speak to a colleague, manager, or healthcare professional if you’re struggling
Early support can make a real difference
Taking care of your mental health helps you continue providing safe, effective care to others.
Working Safely in Warmer Weather
With temperatures improving, warmer weather can bring additional risks—especially for vulnerable patients and residents.
Please remember to:
Stay hydrated during shifts
Monitor residents closely for signs of dehydration or heat exhaustion
Encourage appropriate fluid intake
Follow infection prevention and uniform guidance
Your vigilance helps keep everyone safe during seasonal changes.
Two May Bank Holidays – Important Reminder
May includes two Bank Holidays, which often bring increased demand for shifts.
Please remember:
Enhanced rates may apply depending on the setting
Shifts fill quickly—update your availability early
If you are unavailable, please notify the bookings team
Thank you to everyone who supports services during Bank Holidays.
Looking Ahead – Summer Demand
As we approach summer, demand for agency cover typically increases due to annual leave and staffing pressures.
To help us support you and our clients:
Update your availability in advance
Plan leave early where possible
Keep communication open with the bookings team
This helps ensure smooth rota planning for everyone.
Compliance Reminder
To remain compliant and continue working with TSA LTD, please ensure the following are up to date:
Annual Appraisal – every 12 months
Supervision – every 6 months
Mandatory training and DBS status
If any of these are due or overdue, please contact the compliance team to book as soon as possible. We’re here to support you.
