Locum Band 7 Sonographer  Glasgow NHS

 

Temporary Staffing Agency (TSA) is recruiting an experienced Band 7 Sonographer to join an NHS Hospital in Glasgow on a locum basis.

 

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until 18th November 2026, with the possibility of extension
Location: Glasgow
Working Pattern: Full Time

 

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Sonographer to join a busy NHS Imaging Department, supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services.

 

The successful candidate will undertake a varied ultrasound caseload, performing and reporting examinations while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and clinical practice. You will work closely with radiologists, radiographers, clinicians, and the wider multidisciplinary team to support efficient diagnostic pathways and positive patient outcomes.

 

Requirements

  • Relevant ultrasound qualification and professional registration where applicable

  • Previous experience working at Band 7 Sonographer level or equivalent

  • Competent in independently performing and reporting ultrasound examinations

  • Experience managing a varied diagnostic ultrasound caseload

  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging protocols and patient care standards

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively

  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment

  • Strong organisational and documentation skills

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the assignment
