Locum Band 6 Occupational Therapist (Inpatient Stroke) | Salisbury
Temporary Staffing Agency (TSA) is recruiting an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join an NHS Inpatient Stroke Team in Salisbury on a locum basis.

Working Pattern: Full Time
The Role
You will be a key member of the Inpatient Stroke Team, providing specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke.
The successful candidate will support patients to maximise independence with activities of daily living, assess cognitive and perceptual function, develop rehabilitation programmes, and contribute to discharge planning. You will work closely with physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nursing staff, consultants, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
Accurate clinical documentation, risk assessment, goal setting, and adherence to clinical governance standards will form an important part of this role.
Requirements
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
Previous experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of postgraduate experience across a range of core clinical areas, including:
Stroke Rehabilitation
Neurology
Elderly Care
Medicine
Orthopaedics
Community Rehabilitation
Experience working within an inpatient stroke or neurological rehabilitation setting
Strong assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning skills
Experience completing functional, cognitive, and environmental assessments
Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and prioritise workload effectively
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working skills
Strong documentation and organisational skills
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the assignment
